City & Guilds 2346-03 Level 3 - Experienced Worker Qualification
If you have been working in the Electrotechnical industry for over 5 years and have not completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ, then this route is for you. It is suitable for both employed and self-employed persons within the industry. The key benefit of this route is that you existing qualifications, skills and experience can count towards the qualification, and you therefore only need to fill in the gaps.
TO OBTAIN A GOLD CARD AND QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN STATUS, YOU WILL NEED TO:
- Complete the C&G 2346 NVQ Online Portfolio
- Complete an AM2E Assessment. (Not included, see below)
- Have an up-to-date Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Have an Initial Verification Inspection and Testing Qualification such as the C&G 2391-50 or equivalent.
NVQ 2346-03 Performance Units
There are six Level 3 Performance Units to be assessed before you can gain the Experienced Worker qualification:
- Apply Health, Safety and Environmental Considerations
- Organise and Oversee the Electrical Work Environment
- Apply Design and Installation Practices and Procedures
- Terminate and Connect Conductors
- Inspect, Test and Commission Electrical Systems
- Apply Fault Diagnosis and Rectification
To pass these units, you must provide evidence from current work to demonstrate you can fully meet the performance requirements of each unit.
You’ll be assessed via a range of methods and an assessor will need to observe you at work on at least one occasion during the evidence gathering process.
DURATION:
With your assessors support we estimate a very realistic timescale is 6-12 months to complete the NVQ. The qualification is site based and does not require attendance in centre, even the induction is carried out via an on-line meeting room. Communication with your assessor will be via email, telephone call and on-line meetings.
On completion you will receive a formal C&G Level 3 2346 NVQ certificate.
